Senior in political science and communication Angelica Cruz of Dallas, Texas, tells an audience for the student-run discussion on MLK week some of how participating in the Million Man March with other NIU students affected her. "I came to understand that there are a lot of things against me in the system and it's not for anything I've done but for things I can't control." She felt a sense of unity seeing that what she's fighting for with equality is also what a lot of people are fighting for. "It's important to not feel alone," Cruz said. She commended NIU for allowing the discussion during MLK Celebration Week to happen.
