Northern Illinois University mechanical engineering associate professor Fedrico Sciammarella measures the exact dimensions of a violin bow while assisting NIU engineering student Oluseun Taiwo during a prosthetic fitting in the NIU 3-D printing lab on August 11, 2016. Taiwo custom printed the violin bow prosthetic for violinist Sarah Valentiner, 13, who does not have a hand to hold the bow.
