Corinne Grahan, a transfer sophomore from Three Rivers, Mich., is a music major. "I always thought I'd be a musical performer," Grahan said. "But any performance arts degree is whole heartedly committed, and it can be stressful." She likes that she transferred to NIU. Her focus now is to promote social change through performance. She is working on writing for a recent project called "Women Into Light" which aims to bring historical women figures "into light," and "open awareness on women's suffrage." Her involvement in community theater has opened her eyes to different inequalities. "There isn't equality yet. There are still issues. I thought everything was happy dandy but it's not. There's still progress to be made."
