Freshman graphic design major Zach Maeder of Malta, Ill., pets 8-month-old Mackie, a husky available for adoption through RavenÕs Husky Haven and Rescue located in Sycamore. The event was created by Sigma Nu fraternity and included offering the opportunity to ÒPet a HuskyÓ for $2 with all proceeds going towards the shelter. For the past two year Sigma Nu has held the ÒPet the PuppyÓ event with the Humane Society but this year felt having a husky presence would be more fitting for NIU.
