Sociology major Rebekah Guillotte Sosa from DeKalb, Ill., holds up her name card to show that instead of going by only Rebekah Guillotte, she's having her last name of Sosa read as well, as a "thank-you" to her mom. Guillotte would be the first family member graduating on her mother's side. "She doesn't know yet," Guillotte said of adding " Sosa" to her card. Guillotte wasn't sure what her mother would do when she heard her daughter's name called. "She might cry, be confused, or both. But I wanted to do it. My mom's my best friend."
