First year graduate student in industrial engineering Anandh Raj Marimuthu of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India was covering the MLK march and student-run discussion held at the Duke Ellintgton Ballroom for the Northern Star. Marimuthu said this was the first time he covered the event and he was impressed with the excitement of the participants and how they showed their respect for MLK. While in India there are similar celebrations for civil activists such as Mahatma Gandhi; "they don't take it to this level," Marimuthu said.
