Senior psychology major Reggie Bates of Chicago is also the president of the epsilon phi chapter of alpha phi alpha fraternity and the vice president of the student association, roles that brought him to being student to lead the MLK march through campus from Stevenson Towers to the MKL Commons, megaphone in hand and starting off chants to rally the group. "It was fun to keep the energy going," Bates said. MLK has influenced Bates' life before he had ties as a fraternity brother through his work as a social activist. "Through peace and love, it means a lot to me," Bates said.
