Final: Stephanie Salazar is a freshman from East Moline, IL. Currently, she is majoring in medical laboratory sciences. Guillermo Benitez is a junior from Summit, IL. He is a mathematical sciences’ major. Their poster is entitled "Emboldening Latino Youth to Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) Fields."

Stephanie was interested in this research topic because she is a first-generation Latina and has endured many obstacles getting to this point in her life. Stephanie's favorite part about this research was being able to share her experiences and knowledge with people.

Guillermo finds this research topic important because he is a Latino youth and a first-generation student. Guillermo's favorite part of this research was seeing middle school and high school students make progress. He states that it was a great experience to be a role model for children.
