FINAL: Arianna Cocallas, of Anchorage, AK (left), is an undergraduate at Beloit College in Beloit, WI, but is attending NIU for the summer as a “Visiting Student,” since Beloit did not offer the field course she will need to complete her study in geology during this year. Cocallas found that fellow geology major second-year graduate student Tirzah Abbott of Oak Park, IL, who had also had attended Beloit College for her undergraduate study. The geology department at Beloit is a small, close-knit group, so Cocallas was excited to meet someone that had come from there. “I felt like I just met a member of an extended family,” Cocallas said.
