FINAL: NIU professor in the physics department, Michael Eads of Yorkville, IL, feels the QuarkNet program and NIU’s involvement gives the high school students authentic scientific experiences as well as introducing them to particle physics. Eads, as a particle physicist, also finds value, as he is able to have a “pipeline” of high school teachers involved with the NIU physics department.
