FINAL: Left to right, senior in kinesiology Tyler Hayes of Peoria, IL, and junior in business management De’Chon Jones of Chicago, IL, are student orientation coordinators who help train the student leaders working at summer orientation. Jones enjoyed being a student leader last summer and wanted to help train the leaders this year as a way of doing more for the Husky community. Hayes said she likes being a “face of NIU.” Hayes is paying for her education at NIU herself and said NIU has been very helpful and accommodating when it comes to financial assistance. Working as a student orientation coordinator as been her way of thanking the university. “I like giving back to the school,” Hayes said. “Especially since they have done so much for me personally.”
