FINAL: NIU masters' graduate in English literature and writing camp counselor Kirsten Grimes of DeKalb, IL, enthusiastically applauds one of the camp participants as she completes her reading of her short story during the final day of camp. “I love teaching,” Grimes said, as to why she decided to be a counselor for the writing camp this summer. “The students are brilliant, they are excited and they want to be here. We get overwhelmed because they all want to participate.”
